Pilates

What is Pilates?

Pilates is a body conditioning method that works in a different way to other fitness techniques. Targeting the deep postural muscles, it works by building strength from the inside out, rebalancing the body and bringing it into correct alignment.

It will also improve posture, achieving the perfect balance between strength and flexibility. It helps reshape your body, which will become longer, leaner and more toned. It is a great way to relieve unwanted stress and tension.

All exercises are built around 8 key principles:

  • Breathing
  • Concentration
  • Flowing Movements
  • Alignment
  • Co-ordination
  • Centring
  • Stamina

‘In ten sessions you’ll feel the difference, in twenty you’ll see the difference, and in thirty you’ll have a new body’

My Approach

I use the Pilates approach to building core stability for all of my Personal Training clients in York. Most of us have some sort of postural imbalance that can contribute to injury as we progress other fitness techniques. Pilates can help prevent this.

I also hold a few Pilates classes at Hamlyn Health in Fulford, York.

There are a maximum of 8 clients per class, so that each and every one of you can receive plenty of personal guidance and feedback. These are a great fun way of developing your core stability and correcting postural imbalances. For more information give me a call on 07517 486827.

Class Times – Hamlyn Health, Fulford, York:

  • Tuesdays at 6:30pm
  • Wednesdays at 10:30am.
